Delete your Natter account

The quickest way is in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. If you no longer have the app, you can do it here with a code we text to your number.

What is deleted

• Your account, profile, name and username link, and every signed-in device.
• Your keys, passkeys, notification tokens, Map groups and the people you blocked.
• Your place in every group and chat, and anything still waiting to be delivered to you.
• Your phone number is freed for a new account.

What is kept, and why

• For 90 days, a scrambled (hashed) form of your number linked to the deleted account, to stop abuse such as creating many accounts on one number. If someone blocked you, it is kept as long as their block exists, so the block still applies to your number.
• Records the law requires, such as purchase records, which name only an account ID.
• Backups, until they are replaced.

Messages you already sent stay on the phones of the people you sent them to.
